This is us. Your new colleagues
We, your new colleagues, at the Service Communication team at Volvo Penta consist of a group of eight people. We produce installation information and operating instructions for the marine and industrial industries. As the work means that you are going to be involved with multiple functions within the organization to gather information your collaboration skills are important. We believe that the key to success in this position is teamwork (and some other stuff that can be found under the qualification section).
Role description
Your job is to in an educational way turn the information into instructions for installers and operators. But let's start with the most important question of them all. Do you challenges? Perfect! As this is a varied and challenging job where you will work in close cooperation with design engineers and product specialist in various technical areas this is kind of alpha and omega. Development within the company is constantly ongoing. New technologies and new functions is kind of everyday business at Volvo Penta so your curiosity and ability to act in this changing environment is a great benefit to us.
Main responsibilities
• Gather, structure and produce technical information
• Create text and images illustrate that describe features and operations from a user perspective
• Maintain existing publications and develop the information produced for the future

Qualifications
• Technical education in mechanics or electronics, or equivalent experience. What is however more important is a great knowledge in technical information / information designing and experience of structured information in CMS system, XML and topic-based authoring
• Experience of CAD illustrations and animation. We actually have an illustrator within the group. But as we want to increase our knowledge within this area it is meritorious if you have experience from producing images from CAD
• Experience in Photoshop, CorelDraw, InDesign
• Swedish and English, in spoken and written terms. Authoring is done both in Swedish and English
