In this role, you will lead as a line manager the development team for Traffic Management System, TMS, in Bombardier. The team includes highly skilled software engineers developing Real-Time Systems for controlling the railway. We are looking for a competent Team Leader in Software Engineering with the capability of leading the team.
IN YOUR ROLE YOU WILL:
• Plan and allocate resources to all bids, projects and line related activities in the team
• Responsible for bid estimations for work packages within team
• Develop action plans and coordinates resources to address and resolve problems as needed
• Develop the engineering team to achieve full potential and maximum contributions from the team.
• Communicates and enforces the engineers' responsibility for tracking their progress and adherence to budgeted hours through task planning
• Create and implements plans to improve employee skills, motivation and engagement
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes to provide high quality to meet customers' schedule and expectation
• Provide leadership and direction to the staff of engineers within the team
• Maintain close contact with staff on status of their work
• Optimize communication and relationships with customers and other functions
• Optimize processes/tools/behaviours continuously by taking into account business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions
• Drive and propose work improvements: measure and analysis
• Be responsible to monitor employee performance, provide coaching / feedback and to facilitate employee development throughout the year (e.g. conduct PMP and salary reviews, facilitate the development of their employees' competence).
• Master or Bachelor engineering degree
• Minimum 2 years of proven leadership experience in an international environment
• Experience from requirement management, railway signalling solutions and processes
• Broad knowledge of functionality and architecture of railway systems, products, signalling systems and standards within the Railway industry
• Ms Office package, Outlook, Lotus Notes, Synergy and Hydra experience
• Experience as leader; leadership skills with a desire to lead others and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Proven experience of working and leading multinational teams.
• Developed diplomatic skills and open minded
• Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders and to resolve conflicts
• Fluent business English is mandatory for this role
• Willingness to travel up to 10% per year internationally
