As a Systems Engineer at Schibsted, you are a part of our Infrastructure team, working closely together with the network-, applications- and communications teams. You manage Linux systems, servers and storage in our two data centers as well as our deployments in AWS. You deploy, upgrade, patch, monitor and respond to alerts and 3rd level support issues. Capacity planning and lifecycle management are also parts of your daily work.
You bring DevOps methodologies into your daily work, and take the approach of automate everything, be it AWS deployment issues, our local Red Hat Openstack environment needs, or system tasks.
As part of a dynamic and exciting IT Operations environment, you will support some of the most prominent Internet based services and media houses in Sweden and Europe. You will get the chance to work in a strong and experienced IT Operations department based in central Stockholm, with colleagues in the server-, network-, storage- and client areas.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Managing Linux servers, storage and support systems
• Deploying services, monitoring, patching, daily system administration
• Administer 3rd party support systems
• Perform 3rd level problem resolution
• Integrating DevOps methodologies in our daily work
Skills and expertise:
• Experience in IT Operations
• Linux server administration skills
• Experience in delivering solutions on cloud platforms (AWS) including capacity planning and scaling, system monitoring and auditing, using DevOps -
methodologies
• Scripting in for example Python, Perl, Bash
• Devops mentality - automate everything!
• Advanced troubleshooting at 3:rd line level
• Proficiency in the English language
