Our department, Product Information, has as its mission to develop, supply and support the global organization with methodology, methods and tools for creating world-class products. The goal is to gain further synergies and operational excellence in a truly global R&D organization and meet the increasing need for data related to our products. We are now strengthening our team with resources and additional competencies in order to efficiently implement a common global way of working, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and further development of our automation platform. In focus is the success of Sandvik Coromant strategy. We at CDIE, automation platform, develop and support a programming platform that is used to create rule-based systems for product data creation. For Sandviken, we are now looking for a Systems Developer.

Key performance areas
As a Systems Developer your primary responsibilities are those of a system designer and developer of CAD/CAM/ automation applications. At present, development is carried out primarily in Java, but there are also C/C++/C#/VB applications that are supported. You work with our CAD/CAM/PLM users and methods developers to determine operational needs for automation and, subsequently, develop the practical applications. The role involves supporting our users by configuring and/or programming small to medium sized applications for our automation platform, NX CAD/CAM system and/or PLM system. You work as part of a team that applies agile working methods such as scrum. If you are not trained in our NX CAD/CAM and PLM system, you will receive training on site. Some travel is required in this position, though not frequently, within Europe, and mostly to Gimo.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering, engineering physics or computer science, or who has acquired equivalent knowledge from relevant experience. In this position it is necessary that you have documented experience in programming, and we value that you are a highly motivated developer within some of the languages we use in our operations. Experience in Java and Eclipse is especially desired since this benefits you in the role of Systems Developer. As we work in an international setting, it is important that you have good English skills, in both speaking and writing.

We also place great value on your personal qualities in this recruitment, which are characterized by your independent and hardworking attitude and ambitious and determined mindset. Additionally, you have good social skills and the ability to build networks. As the position involves frequent contact with different stakeholders, it is important that you are communicative and able to share your knowledge with others. You are driven to develop professionally as well as personally, and you are genuinely interested in systems development and IT.
