What you will be a part of
Industrial Products and Services (IPS) act like a holding company for the units included, a collection of independent business units with their own tailor-made strategies to achieve profitable growth. IPS includes the business units; Aerostructures, Avionics Systems, Combitech, Traffic Management and Ventures and represents about 15 percent of Saab. IPS is mainly located in Linköping, Järfälla, Huskvarna Sweden, South Africa, Finland and Norway.
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified systems and equipment (electronics, mechanics and software) for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world's largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Product Areas Control & Actuation, Gripen and Mission Avionics as well as Engineering are all part of the Business Unit Avionics Systems and have its operation in Huskvarna and Järfälla.
The section Mechnical ans System Engineering within the Engineering Department is looking for an System Engineer with placement in Huskvarna.

Your role
As an System Engineer within our group you work with analysis of products in the development phase. The most systems are electronic system but also mechanical and optical systems are included.
Your focus is on development close activity as Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Mode Effects Analysis and Reliability Prediction. The work may be extended with (electronics) Life Time Predictions.
You must understand the basis of mathematics, the electronic and mechanical design in the products. The aim with all work is to be involved as early as possible to be able to affect the design and the total result.
For analysis we use tools from Windchill but also Excel.
Our group consists of 14 persons and two of them works with System Safety.
You will report to the project managers and your line manager.
Your future challenge:
In the future you manage all part of the ILS- and System Safety work and are able to take an overall responsibility for all ILS activity in a project, from offering, developing to verifying the requirements.
Depending on interest, there are possibilities to deepen your knowledge in some part of the process; reliability, system safety or lifetime prediction.
Your skills and experience
The work is performed in Projects and to be sucessful in this position you need to be able to collaborate with different interfaces, and good Communication skill will be a key factor to succeed.
It is valuable with experience from:
• Hardware development
• Material knowledge
• Statistics
An interest of development processes is a plus.
Your educational background is a BSc in engineering, or other adequate education.
The position entails working with classified information. Therefore, you are required to participate in and pass a security test conducted by authority.
