We at the Volvo Group and specifically at Powertrain Engineering within Volvo Group Trucks Technology are now looking for a System Engineer to work with the Fuel Injection System!
The combustion engines will be an important part of the path leading to a cleaner future, with initiatives with alternative and carbon free fuels and further reduced fuel consumption and emissions.

The FIE Team is getting stronger. We are a global team of 11 engineers with different backgrounds, heavily interacting with our colleagues in the other sites, in US, Brazil, France and Bangalore.
We have the responsibility for the heavy duty engine platform, working close together with our application sites. The biggest challenge faced by us now is the contribution of the fuel system to the Volvo Group's sustainability goals.
Your mission:
As a System Engineer, you will perform and lead the engineering activities to specify and design the solutions for our future fuel injection systems that both utilizes the hardware in the best possible way as well as defining new functions within the software to improve the product, of course with the collaboration of the other members of the FIE group. The most important deliveries will be in the earlier phases of the projects, where you will be the responsible for setting the requirements for the fuel system, handling the system interfaces and leading to a good solution.
You will work in cross functional teams, together with experts from other system teams with different competences, engaging to secure good solutions in all perspectives (e.g., with workshops, production, suppliers). A part of the work will also consist in setting technical directions to the other engineers within the group, on a global basis.

To be a good fit for this role, we would like you to be experienced within the development of Fuel Injection Systems and with requirement setting, and to have a good understanding of the relationship between hardware, software and diagnostics functionality.
It is also appreciated that you have proven experience in leading cross functional teams.
We also see that you have:
Master of Science or similar technical education
Several years of experience within Product Development
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Experience as Project Manager is a plus
If you also have experience from Volvo Group Trucks Technology and specifically Powertrain Engineering that is considered a merit.
