Propulsion Strategy and Innovation has the leading role for the Propulsion unit deliveries in concept phase and technology development. The main task for the department is to lead, analyse and develop concepts and system solutions for propulsion including hybrid systems in the next generation of Volvo Car vehicles.
As a System Engineer EMC/EMI you will be a member of Electrical Propulsion System CAE & Systems Design. This group consists of three teams; a CAE team, a system design team and a system safety and diagnose team. We work with the electrical propulsion system for the electric vehicles and full hybrids. Some of the important parts of our systems in the vehicles are High Voltage Batteries, Electric Motors, Inverters and Chargers. Our group works cross-functional within the electrical propulsion system in areas as Systems Design, Diagnostics & Dependability, Electrical Safety, Architecture and Simulations (CAE).
Main responsibilities
* Lead the cross functional System development within Electrical Propulsion System
* Lead and balance the complete system solution to fulfil EMC/EMI requirements.
* Responsible for establishing requirements on the HVDC-bus, e.g. Voltage Transients.
* Function realization and implementation of electrical safety requirements, e.g. Isolation monitoring.
* Ensure that the concept solution is robust, includes development of functionality for fault handling.
* Interpret legal requirements and standards affecting Electrical Propulsion Systems and components.
* Identify needs for advanced engineering projects.
Required qualifications
* University degree within electronics, physics, mechatronics or equivalent working experience
* Minimum 3 years of work experience within EMC/EMI
* Wide knowledge of Electrical Propulsion System functions and sub-systems.
* Experience from high voltage systems in non-automotive industries is meritorious
* Experience from assignment leadership in the automotive industry is meritorious
