What's in it for you?
We are looking for a System Architect to join our Propulsion & Climate Labs at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg.

Propulsion & Climate Labs is Volvo Cars' Centre for testing of propulsion systems, in complete vehicles as well as on component level. We operate and develop propulsion test facilities for vehicles, drivelines, electric motors, batteries, and transmissions, as well as aerodynamic and climatic testing. Our work includes hardware- and software preparation of testing, test execution and processing of measurement data.

The labs are continuously expanding, and we need to utilize state-of-the-art methods to test and verify next-generation cars in an efficient and correct manner. We work closely together to develop the testing of electric machines, electric drivelines, transmissions, inverters, and on-board chargers. The design is changing at a rapid pace and we as a team need to be agile and at the same time deliver repeatable and precise data.

What you'll do
As System Architect you will provide technical trade-offs concerning systems, functions, modules, components, interfaces, and capabilities in the labs testbeds. You will participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the test beds and explore alternatives. You will work with stakeholders, particularly the testing departments to analyze the test need and develop the future test environment and documentation requirements. You will operate within the financial boundaries to validate its impact of design decisions. You will plan and develop the Architectural Runway in support of upcoming business Features and Capabilities. You will work closely with Product Management and to determine capacity allocation for enablement works. You will support technology/engineering aspects of the Program and the Solution Visualization Boards (e.g., Kanbans).

You and your skills
We see that you have a M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar, as well as experience within validation and verification methods. Previous experience from building up lab environment would be highly valued and knowledge in Physical Measurement technics of electric machines as well as in Test Automation system both HW and SW is meritorious.

With your eye for detail, but at the same time the ability to always see to the bigger picture, you are the person who will make the puzzle come together. You have a good portion of high-level thinking as well as hands-on attitude. You are a great communicator who easily build new relationships, persistent enough to get the answers you need to succeed. You aim for the long-term goal and can think outside the box to get there.
