We are now looking for Surface Modeler/A-class Modeler in Alias.
Description
The Visualization Designer creates computer generated images/animations/real time graphics in order to support the creative design department within the engineering and product development organization. The Visualization team primarily collaborates internally with all members of Creative Design Department. Secondarily they will on occasion help the different departments in the TDC and Sales and Marketing Department if it does not interfere with Creative Design Department.
The role as a Surface Modeler/A-class Modeler in Alias involves:
- Actively and independently develop CAD data, from early sketch to Class A-data, using verbal information and/or sketches from creative designer. Responsible that the result of the model fulfils the expected goals and intentions of the creative designer and all engineering/ studio engineer functions.
- The CAD models shall comply with NEVS quality standards.
- Actively acquiring information affecting surface definition (i.e. hard points, margin conditions from engineers and creative designers) together with the studio engineer.
- Responsible to secure that interfaces are met to surrounding components visually as well as from an engineering aspect (i.e. hard points, margin conditions, fit & flush (input from engineers and creative designers))
- Perform quality analysis of surfaces and shapes before the CAD data is released together with the responsible creative designer or nearest manager.
- Follow-up work, update of CAD data as required according to new information.
- Cooperate with engineer, to ensure that the CAD data can be easily transformed into a solid.
- Keep up to date with software and methodology.
We are looking for someone who has:
- University engineering education or equivalent experience, BSc.
- Experience from development in Design Studio environment or relevant area, minimum 5 years.
- Ability to understand the design ideas and rapidly translate into Styling Surfaces.
- High level of proficiency in Alias and/or Maya.
- Experience from Class-A surface modelling.
- Experience from VRED, keyshot or similar is a merit.
- Fluent in English both spoken and written

NEVS is a member of the Engineering Industries and covered by current collective bargaining agreement signed by Unionen / Sveriges Ingenjörer / Ledarna.
