hela Sverige The Living Group responsibility is to design and develop systems and components with the aim to enhance functions and comfort used while living in the cab; storage systems, headliner and wall trim parts, bunks, floor mats, interior lights, refrigerators, curtains, surface materials, etc.
We are now looking for a Surface Material Specialist with focus on working with textiles and other surface materials.
Position Summary
As a Surface Material Specialist you will work in a small team within Cab Interior Living who are working with all surfaces at the truck except the exterior paint colours. The work involves a lot of interfaces towards other people, functions and companies both within and outside Volvo Group. You will be working close to both Product Design as well as Design Engineers and Component owners. The Surface Material Specialists task could be seen as transferring the Product Design team's ideas of surfaces to technical data (incl engineering documentation in our PDM system KOLA and colour measurement data) and then making it happen in cooperation with our suppliers.
The role is cross functional which means you will drive your system/component area issues within the whole Volvo GTT organization and closely cooperate with suppliers, purchasing, aftermarket etc. The Volvo Group has development responsibilities in many parts of the world so you will be part of a global team.

Requirements:
• Master or Bachelor Degree in Textile Engineering or Industrial Design Engineering or equivalent
• Experience of product development within Surface Material
• Experience from testing and /or requirement setting of Surface Materials
• Confirmed good color vision
• Experience of colour evaluation and/or colour measurements
• Knowledge of plastic materials and production processes is a merit
• Good knowledge in English, both written and spoken
