YOUR ROLE - DUTIES
As Supplier Quality Engineer in the group sourcing team you will contribute to defining and executing the global sourcing strategy within Permobil Group. The group sourcing team defines and presents supply chain strategies based on category management and supplier quality assurance including responsibility for suppliers and their performance.
The position as Supplier Quality Engineer involves a structured and methodical approach, with responsibility for setting requirements for supplier quality procedures and secure compliances through audits.
You will develop relationships with new and existing suppliers as well as being responsible for product and process quality from the supplier base. Following-up and monitoring of key quality and compliance measures is part of the role.
You will also be part of evaluating and selecting new suppliers. You will be visiting our suppliers to drive risk assessments and compliance control in our evaluation process.
Key duties with this position that covers both global and regional activities are:
• Develop and maintain a supplier quality system that ensures high quality products for our users and that Permobil is fully compliant to rules and regulations such as FDA and EU MDD
• Drive continuous improvements of quality requirements and methods needed in order to secure high quality and stable production of Permobil products.
• Drive right quality from the start in development projects with design
• Support to Business Units with product and process quality analysis and suggestions for improvement also for quality issues that are not supplier but internally design related
• Develop, maintain and perform supplier quality assurance and audit programs
• Develop and maintain training and development material and plans for employees and suppliers
• Participate, represent and take decisions for BF Supply Chain in relevant CAPA and Quality forums.
• Participate in supplier governance meetings in collaboration with the group sourcing manager or sourcing specialist.
• Drive task force team when having complex or business critical quality problems at the suppliers ' sites.
YOUR PROFILE - QUALIFICATIONS
Our Supplier Quality Engineer is expected to analyze, suggest and implement improvements at of our Quality Management System, both internally and at suppliers in an independent way. The level of problem solving is also affected by the fact that the process around supplier quality always have to be at the highest standard and continuously improved to secure the safety for Permobil users.
No internal supervisory responsibilities are related to the position but it requires high level of supervision, coordination and communication with all sites within Permobil as well as the contacts with the suppliers.
Key competences with this position that covers both global and regional activities are:
• High knowledge in Quality Management Systems and standards
• Experience from quality management in design processes, production flows and production engineering methods
• General knowledge in compliance regulations for medical device industry is an advantage
• Project management execution capabilities
• Strong relationship management and communication skills
• Persuasive and influential with a high level of attention to details
• Power of initiative and strong driving force
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
We expect you to have a business and/or a technical education. Furthermore, you have at least 2-3 years of experience working strategically with supplier quality - in the manufacturing sector. Our environment is international though a majority of the work is conducted with suppliers in China.
This position is located in Timrå and includes travelling.
