Supplier Quality Engineer
Electrical Distribution System (EDS) are responsible for developing the electrical distribution system, the wiring harness and the wiring harness components, in all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars.
EDS Concept and Quality are responsible for the design work done in pre-series builds and concept phases. They handle testing of EDS deliveries and are responsible for handling all EDS related quality issues. The team is also responsible for the CAE tools used by EDS' suppliers and for CAE support.
EDS are responsible for several different components and wiring harnesses and are involved in all vehicle builds, pre-series and production. They have several different suppliers with production sites all over the world. In order to assure that the quality and the production capacity for the pre-series builds a Supplier Quality Engineer is required.
The Supplier Quality engineer handles the pre-series builds with a focus on the wiring harnesses. In this position, you will secure that all harnesses needed in a pre-series build are available on time and have the correct content and quality. The position requires a close corporation with EDS suppliers and their manufacturing sites. To ensure this the role requires travels to visit the manufacturing sites. Since this is a new position at EDS you will have the possibility to shape the role as you see best for handling the assignment.
Areas of responsibilities:
* Assure that the different manufacturing sites are able to deliver the correct material to pre-series builds with regards to quality, content and timing.
* Keep close contact with supplier manufacturing sites to ensure deliveries.
* Work together with the test object leaders at EDS to ensure that the materials are ordered on time and from the correct manufacturing site.
* When needed, travel to supplier manufacturing sites to ensure that their processes are aligned with requirements.
As a Supplier Quality Engineer at EDS you will work with several different suppliers and departments within Volvo cars which will gives you useful connections for the future. You will be up to date with all new projects and get an understanding for the complete vehicle that is difficult to acquire at other departments.
Required:
* University degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Vehicle knowledge
* Understand how to interpret drawings and models
Meritorious:
* EDS work experience
* KDP experience
* Knowledge about Volvo Cars product development process

* Structured with high analytical skills
