Pulp Competence Centre is part of Stora Enso's research organization specializing in chemical pulping. We work with improvements in process technology and process chemistry in the pulp mill's various sub-processes. An important part of our work is to know how the production process will impact on the end product properties.
Work description
For the summer period 2015 we are looking for a student of chemical engineering or chemistry interested in pulping technology in general and modelling applied to the Kraft pulp mill in particular. Examples of work tasks are establishment of water and mass balances over specific parts of the pulp mills and calculation of the internal generation potential for specific sulphur compounds. For the modelling work programs as WinGems and Wedge will be used so experience of these is an advantage.
The work duration will be 6-8 weeks depending on the scope. The work period is flexible and will be determined in collaboration with the student when starting.
Qualifications
Since all reporting is done on our corporate language, a requirement is that the applicant has good skills in English. We look with favor an applicant from University or College with study focused on chemical engineering and pulp and paper technology.
