ASM Foods in Mjölby is part of the Barry Callebaut Group, and focuses on developing and producing customized fillings and coatings for the bakery, confectionery, dairy and ice cream industries. The site in Mjölby has two production facilities - one designed to produce water based products such as caramels, fruit fillings, and other sauces, and the other designed to produce fat based products such as chocolate and compound coatings and fillings. Our production is agile and flexible, facilitating great new opportunities and creative product development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
The Strategic Purchaser for our Specialities and Decorations site in Mjölby will be at the forefront of all strategic sourcing activities and guarantee purchase for all of our products to ensure continuity of supply. You will play a key role in getting the right goods at the right place at the right time. You will work closely with supply chain, finance and R&D to ensure compliance and delivery and you will collaborate with your internal customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
You will focus on building relationships with key suppliers, cost saving and/or sustainable initiatives and innovations.
Have the responsibility for the direct material sourced to ASM.
You will develop, establish and maintain cost-effective, service-oriented as well as quality-focused strategic supplier relationships
Be responsible for all negotiations and supplier contracts and follow up and ensure that contract are correctly implemented
Have a close cooperation with sales on raw material price development, how it affects ASM customers and support when needed.
Cooperate with R&D on the development of the raw material portfolio and on cost saving projects.
Continuously identify, search and evaluate suppliers and/or new materials that fits with the organization's framework of quality and price.
Play an active role in relevant cross-functional projects relating to changes of material and/or suppliers
Together with the BC sustainability team develop the raw material portfolio to be 100 % sustainable latest 2025
ABOUT YOU - Things We Will Be Looking For
Primarily we are looking for a person with a background in commercial purchasing from a manufacturing environment, preferably the food industry. You are a graduated student with previous experience in the purchasing area, ideally a relevant internship or 3-5 years of career experience so far. What is most important is your attitude, willingness and ability to quickly learn and maintain good relationships both with suppliers as well as internally with other employees.
You will have the following qualifications and skills to fill the role:
Professional qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher required, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics or Supply Chain.
Past solid work experience in Purchasing function (in food, pharmaceutical or chemical industries)
Project Management and Communication Skills.
Experience in collecting and analyzing data
Solid skills in Google environment, SAP & Microsoft Office
Fluent English language is a must, Swedish is preferred and any other language is a plus
Personal skills
High degree of flexibility, ability to work with competing priorities, and to work on strategic, tactical as well as operational level
Systematic, creative and seek improvements in your daily work, enabling you to actively understands problems and bringing solutions
Self starter with the ability to work with international & cross functional teams
Ability to perform with minimal supervision. Take action before being requested to do so
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, you build both trust and strong networks, and you inspire and challenge your stakeholders in performing accurate reporting and planning

Location: Mjölby, Sweden. Hybrid workplace (possibility to work partly remote).
The position reports to the Technical Sales & Sourcing Manager.
You must have a work permit in Sweden to apply for this position.
