Who we are.
Volvo Cars is undertaking a significant industrial change as we consolidates all our combustion engine operations into a stand-alone business. This in order to establish a new global supplier that will seek to develop next-generation combustion engines and hybrid powertrains. The new organization will develop technologically-advanced and efficient combustion engines and hybrid powertrains for Volvo Cars, Geely Auto, Proton, Lotus, LEVC and LYNK & CO. The new stand-alone business will also supply third-party manufacturers, providing exciting growth opportunities. The gradual electrification of the automotive industry means there will be significant ongoing demand for efficient hybrid powertrains alongside fully-electric offerings. Hybrid cars need the best internal combustion engines. This new unit will have the resources, scale and expertise to develop these powertrains. The new business, currently operating under the internal name ICE, will be an employer for approximately 3,000 employees from Volvo Cars including R&D, procurement, manufacturing, IT, HR, Strategy & planning and finance functions.
Strategic Partnerships & Alliances is organized within in the Business Office and we are a part of the Strategy & Planning organisation. Business Office is vital part of the organisation focusing the business aspect. Working with a cross functional leadership throughout the whole ICE organisation with the clear target to improve performance and create business value. We are now looking for Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Manager to join the team. The position will report to head of Business, Sales & Marketing.
What will you do?
As a Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Manager you will be responsible for, but not limited to;
Actively seek and secure external funding for internal processes. Develop and maintain a relevant network of policymakers
Frequent external contacts. Manage NewCo's sponsorships and charitable contributions. Support potential mergers and acquisitions and organic growth.
Work close to our counterparts in China

We are looking for persons with a great business acumen who are able get things done. You must have a large portion of courage and huge drive for result. High integrity is required since you will be handling vast amount of confidential information. Traveling will be required since we will be part of a global organisation. Team work is key for success and strong communication skill is vital along with the ability to handle multiple assignment.
How to fit the profile?
You are an experienced leader with previous experience from cross functional assignments & have formerly worked in an international environment. M.Sc Business and/or M.Sc Technical degree is expected. A broad external network and knowledge from working with external partners & organisations will be beneficial in this role.
