HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within ABB's Power Grids division located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.
Tasks
As Strategic Buyer, you belong to a category cluster team consisting of a transactional buyer, buyer/senior buyer and a category manager that also acts as the team leader. The team is responsible for delivering world-class operative, as well as strategic purchasing services to HVDC customer projects and R&D projects within its category cluster scope.
As Strategic Buyer, you will follow already approved category strategies by sourcing and selecting suppliers, negotiate supplier contracts, monitor, follow up and develop existing suppliers and secure that the products or services that you procure have the right quality and are delivered on time at optimal total cost level.
Requirements
You have been working in purchasing (or engineering close to suppliers) for 10+ years in an engineering/project company and preferably have experience in above stated purchasing categories. You are a proactive communicator, proficient in English and preferably have an academic degree in business, finance or engineering.
