Job: Design Engineer
Group/Team: Steridose
Location: Tumba
Reports to: Steridose Product Manager
THE ROLE AS DESIGN ENGINEER AT STERIDOSE
You will be responsible for the mechanical design of new components and improvements to existing ones, relative to current product development projects, as well as activities related to product maintenance. You will work closely with the Sales, Purchasing and Manufacturing teams.
Tasks will include:
• Work on conceptual and detailed design of process components.
• Responsibility for coordinating tasks related to product design with Purchasing and Manufacturing teams.
• Responsibility for following applicable design procedures/routines.
• Providing technical support to Sales and customers over the phone and required root cause/failure analysis reports.
• Provide support to Manufacturing related to new developments and product maintenance.
• Some traveling expected.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
We believe that a successful candidate will have experience from a similar position and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He or she is used to manage many different concurrent activities (planning and prioritization under time-pressure). You assimilate and synthesize technical information quickly from multiple sources and demonstrate ongoing curiosity about technical developments in the field. You are a team player who can maintain positive working relationships within own team and across groups to create effective solutions, proactively communicating and assisting as necessary.
In addition:
• It is desirable with 3+ years experience in a similar position with rotating equipment (pumps and/or mixers), translating customer requirements in designs that turn into competitive solutions.
• Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes of machined metal parts.
• Is proficient in 3D cad systems, preferably in SolidWorks.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and awareness of cultural differences.
• It is desirable with industry experience (design of process components for bio-pharmaceutical applications).
