The purchasing team Electrical Propulsion Systems is a group of highly dedicated people responsible for all purchasing activities within the area of electrification. We have a bright future ahead of us with new exciting developments which requires that we need to strengthen our team even further.
We are now looking for a Senior Category Buyer with responsibility for High Voltage Batteries for our future electrified cars. In this role, you will be part of a very interesting area with a lot of focus at the moment, driven by a market which is growing in an extremely rapid pace. Your role will be to create long term strategies, perform global sourcings, and to be the overall responsible to secure that Volvo Cars makes the best commercial decisions in the area of your responsibility.
Propulsion is very much into the lead of electrification of drivelines, but at the same time, we have to take care of the traditional technology in parallel. This makes the challenge big and extremely challenging. The journey from combustion engines to electric cars is now. We drive the future!
Main responsibilities
* Manage and lead the supply base towards an optimal total cost approach and overall efficiency in delivering long term sustainable profitable growth
* Anchor and execute Commodity Business Plans, e.g. identifying and leading key programs to achieve cost saving targets and setting supplier base portfolio, based on market and business needs
* Have a total cost approach by delivering cost savings, cash flow and added-value improvements
* Together with stakeholders prepare and effectuate RFI/RFQ within your area, leading to efficient negotiations and competitive sourcing results
* Perform risk management analysis, including financial risk analysis of suppliers
* Lead the global purchasing sub-council team to develop and utilise strategies to maximise corporate synergies for VCC
Possibilities of development

Required qualifications
* Commercial or Technical University degree or equivalent
* Experience within purchasing or other jobs with a large proportion of customer and supplier contacts as well as negotiation
* Big interest in purchasing and good communication skills
* Computer Skills, MS Office and especially PowerPoint
* Master the English language both spoken and written

To succeed in this role you will have to be self-motivated, inspiring, driven and outgoing. You need to be self-propelled and responsive but at the same time team oriented with a holistic approach and you thrive to work with tasks where there is a possibility to use your problem solving skills. You enjoy working in a global organization and like to take on special assignments outside your daily responsibilities. For you, deadlines are actually deadlines and you take pride in delivering on time. Lastly you enjoy to take initiative, to be proactive and you are able to come with new creative ideas when needed.
