What you will be a part of
Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
Sourcing & Production is a delivery unit formed of around 450 employees, where all of EDS's sourcing and supply activities are gathered in one organisational unit. This unit will be measured and evaluated for profitability, quality, time and cost and will consist of three production units, a common sourcing unit and a common quality/operational excellence function.
Your role
As Specialist should you be a leader in your area, internally and externally. You will represent the strategic area in question, both within the company and in external relations with customers, partners and academia. You should serve as an in-house driver for the area, developing the area, leading colleagues' contributions technically, and ensuring proper implementation in Saab products. You will be an advisor to management in activities related to the area, such as strategic planning.
As Specialist you execute leadership as well as develop the competence within your area. This implies that you have a network of contacts, externally as well as internally.
As Specialist you will develop and generalize the competence of the organization. Developing competence is often teamwork, and the Specialist is a key person in this work. The Specialist can support other staff in their daily work and help managers plan and implement competence development in the strategic area.
As Specialist, with unique competence in your strategic area, you should be able to critically question what we are doing, as well as look ahead and find creative solutions. You should ideally be involved in all phases of the product life cycle, from R&D to operational feedback. You should ensure that the results you produce become available for product development.
As Specialist you have a special responsibility for IPR issues, i.e. to follow up that we submit patent applications in the area, and that we do not make patent infringements.
You will report to Lena Lindqvist manager Industrialization and partially Martin Labecker, Manager Industrialization.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for a person with good leadership skills and the ability to engage other people across the EDS organization. You have a strategic, holistic and business minded approach; you are structured and analytic and have good communication and pedagogical skills. You have a performance driven mindset.
As a specialist you should strengthen Sourcing and Productions ability to improve its business operations. This involves ensuring that business operations are efficient in terms of production flow and using as few resources as possible, and also effective in terms of meeting customer requirements.
You should have the ability to drive the exploration of alternative ways of working in order to make the production flow (production methods, assembly lines, logistics of material and information etc.) more efficient as well as building a competitive supporting infrastructure and allowing rapid response to changes.
You should have the ability to develop technologies and methods based on Lean and Six Sigma into practice to improve the business operations.
You have the ability to communicate a clear strategic vision and transform that in to short and long term actions.
You are a driven person with perseverance to achieve long end short term goals
You have the ability to set your own goals and independently implement necessary actions.
