The department Active Safety is responsible all the way from research and advanced engineering to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers.
Our department Active Safety consist of over 300 ambitious and skilled engineers and is responsible for the development and verification of;
* Advanced Driver Assistance System
* Protective Safety
* Vehicle Motion & Stability
* Autonomous Drive Function, Software & Sensor Platform
We develop and integrate system and functionality into a complete product, encompassing SW, HW and sensors as radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar, that build a comprehensive perception of the surroundings.
We are now looking for a Solution Train Engineer who works as a servant leader and coach for the solution release train.
Together with other engineers around the world, you and your colleagues will create innovative human centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. What will you do?
Do you want to work in a challenging but exciting position in one of Volvo Cars focus areas for the future? You will work on a high level by driving and organizing the work of all four Agile Release Trains (ART) and suppliers in the value stream.
You will:
* Manage and optimize the flow of value through the solution train
* Establish and communicate the annual rolling calendar for iterations and program increments (PI)
* Facilitate PI planning readiness by fostering the preparation of visions and capability backlogs by the Pre- and Post-PI planning meetings
* You will work in close collaboration with the Solution Manager, leading the Release Train Engineers
What do you need to have?
To be successful in this job, we see that you have at least 5 years of relevant work experience. What is relevant? It could be that you have worked as a program manager for larger software programs or similar. You have SW or electronic engineering experience, and preferably in an agile environment (we love agile!). A university degree can always be a good thing - especially for this position within computer science or engineering, but if you have equivalent experience that's fine too.
You have genuine interested and engagement in management questions and personal development. You are result driven. What we mean by that is that you have the ability to independently plan, drive and follow up your work towards objectives.
We are a global company, so if you have worked in an international environment before that is something we value! And for that reason, you must master the English language.
You are communicative, excellent skilled we would say. Both verbally and written. And you can adjust your communication - you must effectively connect with technical and non-technical teams, executive management, partners and customers - the whole range. You show courage and build confidence around you! You must have the ability to navigate the political landscape (easier said than done sometimes). You understand business and end customer value understanding.
