As a Solution Architect at SIS you will be a part of a product team and contribute to the implementation of both new and existing software products, work with continuous improvement of the operational stability and performance of our products and services. We collaborate closely with our Data Scientists and part of the job involves working with our machine learning capabilities.
Examples of tasks and responsibilities:
Identify and incorporate relevant quality attributes in solution design such as scalability, concurrency, security, reusability, maintainability, operability, changeability etc.
Produce solution designs, following architectural principles and aligned with business needs, document those designs on a suitable level depending on the intended audience
Communicate and justify architectural design decisions.
Act as a bridging force between business-oriented stakeholders and development teams.
Assist in day-to-day technical activities and describe, discuss and evolve architectural decisions and remove architectural obstacles from the development teams.
Work together with Lead Solution Architect to balance short- and long-term architectural goals and make sure that functionality is delivered efficiently
Improve ways of working by sharing experiences and best practices
If you want to combine the architect role with a developer role, you are more than welcome. Hands on knowledge and connection with implementation details is something we value and encourage
Preferred experience and competence
We would like you to be comfortable with data modelling, API design and documentation of software architecture.
Software development experience using object oriented and functional paradigms. Knowledge in Go is a plus with the opportunity to further develop these skills on the job
Designing distributed, transactionally intense systems and solutions.
Experience in microservices and common patterns such as event sourcing, CQRS, MVC etc.
Working with cloud platforms and managed services, relational and NoSQL databases, messaging technologies, experience in container orchestration and service mesh.
Knowledge in internet protocols and formats like HTTP, JSON, gRPC and Protobuf.
Integration patterns, experience with pub/sub and request/reply approaches.
Working with governance, finding balanced levels of control
Interest or experience in machine learning is advantageous as is any certifications in the field of architecture
Even if you don't have hands-on experience in all areas, an open mind, curiosity and willingness to learn or investigate these technologies is equally important.
