Software Project Manager

The section Audio & Displays is a part of the Vehicle Software and Electronics unit.
The section is responsible for the audio systems, tuners and antennas, and displays including the functionality closely connected to the driver. We are approximately 60 people working within the section, divided in three different groups.



Within the Driver Information group we are responsible for the development and implementation of the Driver Information functionality, the Driver Information Module (DIM), the Head Up Display and the Center Stack Display (CSD).
We have Function Owners, System Responsibles, Lead Engineers, SW responsible Engineers, HW responsible Engineers and a Technical Expert in Displays within the group.



We are now looking for a Software Project Manager



Depending on who will apply to this posting we are looking for either a Feature Team Leader/Function Realisation Responsible (FRR) OR a Software responsible.



Both as a SW responsible and as a FTL/FRR you will be working closely together with Function Owners, System Responsibles, System Designers, other SW Responsibles, Test Engineers and Interaction designers, within a highly cross-functional team. As a FRR you will also have close contact with other parts of the company such as powertrain, legal, complete vehicle testing, fuel, wheels and tyres etc.



We are looking for you who have experience from system engineering and have a broad vehicle knowledge, but most of all you need to be self-driven, positive and a good team player.



Main responsibilities as a Feature Team Leader/Function Realisation Responsible:
Plan, prioritize and coordinate the work for the Feature Team
Follow up test results from the internal test team
Report and establish technical solutions in line and project organization
Write specifications according to Functional requirements.
Secure that specifications are ready in time, updated and released
Updating and defining signaling and system solutions.
Support fault tracing and/or troubleshooting activities.



Main responsibilities as a SW responsible engineer for DIM:
Updating SW requirement specifications
Work in close cooperation with suppliers to clarify questions regarding specifications, work processes, system design and quality assurance activities
Follow up of suppliers and test results.
Management and follow up of internal SW Acceptance- and Integration tests.
Issue management and related investigations.
Status Reporting and software delivery to the projects.
Managing various company internal interfaces, e.g. electrical interface, signaling interface



Required qualifications
BSc within electronics, physics, mechatronics or equivalent
Fluent communication in English
Driver's license B



Meritorious qualifications:
Experience from system engineering
Knowledge of ISO26262 and Autosar
Broad vehicle knowledge
Practical and theoretical knowledge in Volvo Product Development System (VPDS)
Other language skills, i.e Swedish
Experience from Volvo Cars and Volvo Cars tools such as Elektra
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
