hela Sverige The section Connected Infotainment is a relatively new part of the Driver Interaction and Infotainment department. The section responsibility include areas such as Telematics and Connectivity. The telematics system includes Telematic functions such as Volvo On Call functionality, emergency Call and mobile app, Telematic Electronic Control Modules (ECU) components and important interfaces towards IT backend system. Enablers for Telematic functions is the antenna, modem, SIM card and a variety of network operators. It also includes back up components such as speakers and microphones.
Our main area is to handle specific components and electronic control modules that are needed to enable Telematic and Connectivity functions. The biggest focus in the group is to develop HW and SW components used to realize connectivity and Volvo On Call functionality. We are also responsible for maintaining quality for the connectivity area, and make sure that new markets are prepared for Volvo On Call.
As a Software Engineer (SW Responsible) you will work with existing and new parts in current and upcoming car projects. The work is done in teams that consist of system designers, hardware designers and a task leader. You are in close cooperation with the verification team and several other functions within Volvo Car Group. This work includes many international contacts and is done in cooperation with international suppliers.
Main responsibilities
* Responsible for specification, administration and coordination of SW development for Telematic Control Modules and Vehicle Connectivity Modules; which involve receiving and reviewing supplier test documentation, writing requirements, uploading SW and creating test orders to the project, aligning the SW structure so that cars can be built in the factory.
* In early phases of projects, be heavily involved in the realization of the requirements (not writing code) for software download, diagnostics, communication etc. towards the supplier, depending on timing and state in the project also fault-tracing in factory/cars and together with supplier.
* Develop solutions, in cross functional teams that fulfil design prerequisites and Volvo Cars standards within Time and Cost frames.
* Verify the solution and recommend changes of the design regarding technology, quality, service, environment, market adaptation and rationalization.
* Contribute to the build-up of experience, by participating and developing technology strategies within the area of competence.

Required Qualifications:
* B.Sc. within Electrical, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics or equivalent level of education
* Ability to understand system development within the automotive industry.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
* Documented leadership experience.
* Experience of in-vehicle diagnostics.
* Experience of other electrical base technologies (e.g. network design or communication).
* Driver's license B.

* Previous job in an automotive company or experience in the area of automotive.
