Software Engineer for the Fatigue Risk Management team

At Jeppesen we create amazing software that helps millions of passengers around the world to safely and efficiently reach their destination. Look up in the sky and you will see a quarter of a million crew members on thousands of aircraft, flying schedules produced by our software. We are the best in the world at what we do. We are the preferred choice for the world's premiere airlines such as Lufthansa, Delta Airlines, Qatar Airways, SAS, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and many others.

One of our guiding tenets is striving to continuously improve and we are on a journey to transform to an even more agile, even leaner and even more dynamic organization. You will work in a one-of-a-kind software development organization with fascinating solutions that make a real difference to people around the world, every second of the day. You will be surrounded by extremely talented colleagues, up for any challenge and who will not hesitate to challenge you. You will have the opportunity to learn and broaden your views by working with more than 200 engineers from more than 30 different nations, all under the same roof. Most importantly, you will be expected to make a difference.

The scheduling of airline crew for large airlines consists of very complex processes governed by flight and duty time limitations set by the regulators and unions. Jeppesen has developed a unique capability to take human physiology into account during crew planning as represented by mathematical models. This capability is at the core of our suite of offerings in an area called Fatigue Risk Management which allows for our airline customers to not only fly safer but also with higher crew utilization. This software engineering position will be located in the team working with this FRM functionality and foremost with a product called Concert that enables an airline, via regular uploads of data, to track the development of key performance indicators over time on massive amounts of data.

In this position you will be working as a "full stack" developer. You will be involved in all layers of the Concert application, from innovation, to development in Python, javascript/css to data modelling and tuning the backend servers. We assume you have been part of web development project(s) before and have an interest in all parts of the web technology stack. You will be expected to work closely with the customers and internal stakeholders of Concert, gaining an understanding of the business requirements of fatigue risk management and crew planning. You may also be involved in development and maintenance of our CrewAlert iOS application as well as implementation of our planning solutions, sometimes on-site our customer locations. (More information on our FRM portfolio is found at www.jeppesen.com/frm)
