As an applicant you can program C/C++ better than anyone else you know and have experience of other modern programming languages including Python. You have already worked with several types of UNIX at home out of pure interest and would like to work with an open platform. Experience in web programming, Adobe Flash and design would be beneficial.
Professionally you can handle stress well and are both productive and responsible. You contribute well in teams with a positive approach to problem solving, have a wide knowledge base, are genuinely interested in mathematics and statistics as well as quickly learning new skills. You also speak English well, hold a suitable Masters university degree and have relevant work experience.
Picsearch is one of the three biggest providers of image search services and many big search engines around the world use our services. We handle several hundred million search queries every month and therefore we have high demands regarding performance, scalability and reliability. In addition to image search we provide video and audio search services plus several on-line video services. Development is mostly done in C/C++ in an Ubuntu environment. We use open source tools and software whenever we can.
Picsearch was founded in 2000 and has profitably grown since then. We are located in fresh offices at Liljeholmen's center in Stockholm with a view over a lakeside park.
