The department Electric Propulsion System Engineering (EPS) is responsible for development of all major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems at Volvo Cars. Sub-systems as Electric Drives, HV Batteries, Power supplies, Chargers etc. are some of our responsibilities.



The group Charging System is responsible for delivering system solution and SW functionality for the on-board charger (OBC) system in our electrified vehicles. Our vision is to deliver the best functionality in the market and continuously evolve our development platform. We are working with continuous integration as development praxis and we are striving towards continuous deployment of SW.



As Software Architect for OBC (also called Product Owner(PO)), you will be responsible to design a superset software architect for our OBC SW, the main assignment is to provide a platform base software structure instead of project based to increase the reusability of our AUTOSAR software components. The initial task is to review the current software development process and building environment, propose the software solution, implement and design new structure for our in-house SW. Moreover, secure that our SW delivery is aligned and compatible with all vehicle projects both ongoing and future. Also responsible for the strategic planning of development needs and creating a vision for the in-house SW. You will be also responsible to review the branching and linking strategy of projects in our version handling system (SVN) and make sure that we have right structure for our project setup.



Main responsibilities


Redesign the architecture of software environment, software components and platforms.
Create and prioritising the product backlog
Ensuring correct software content is delivered to vehicle projects every time
Plan and maintain over-all in-house software development and release plan towards projects
Approve design and calibrations within mandate
Make sure that function implementation plan (FIP) for in-house SW is aligned with project plan
Represent SW development in project leaders-meetings
Populate and refining the product backlog with work items
Collect and handshake input requirements for in-house SW and stakeholder
Identify plant model needs ongoing and future projects
Software issue monitoring and management
Approve software architect, design solution and calibration within the product
Attend software review meeting and schedule test object needs
Report software component status and review Tier 1 (Volvo supplier) development process
Align function implementation list for OBC with other VCC groups and in-house OBC SW team.
Give input for software planning in projects and review Software requirement specification



Required Qualifications


Bachelor of Science within engineering preferably in the field of power electronic or computer science
Experience of working with Matlab/Simulink and model based SW development
Knowledge and experience about AUTOSAR architect and development
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Experience of working with system requirement, system solution and system design
Competence within Scrum/Agile development, Test automation, C-programming, JIRA, Jenkins and SVN



Preferred Qualifications


Masters of Computer Science
Driver License B
Experience in the automotive industry
Experience of on-board charger functionality
Knowledge about charging standards: AC, CHAdeMO, CCS
Knowledge about charging standards: SW Build environments, continuous integration framework, INCA, SW testing (unit, MIL, SIL, HIL, Rigs, vehicle)
Experience of working as software technical team leader
