Are you interested in working in a growing area where you will have the possibility to participate and hopefully impact technical and organizational discussions? We are looking for a Simulation Engineer within electromagnetics for the department Electrical Systems Design that is responsible for the entire vehicle electrical system. Electrical Systems Design is a part of Vehicle Software & Electronics within Volvo Cars' Research and Development (R&D), and the department has approximately 200 employees.
You will work in a cross functional agile team with simulation engineers from other areas such as voltage transient analysis and also from mechanical areas such as fretting analysis. Method development is the main focus in the team, but some analysis work is done as well.
What will you do?
You develop methods for EMC simulations for future and currently used technologies within Volvo cars. You have degrees of freedom to form your deliveries and to develop your own skills, both technically as well as in the area of leadership. The EMC simulation area at Volvo cars is an expanding area and as mentioned above you will have the possibility to participate in both technical and organizational discussions.
What do you need to have?
To be successful in this position, we believe you currently work as a simulation engineer within EMC and that you have some years' experience within this area.
* M.Sc. or PhD in physics, electronics or equivalent
* Experience of electromagnetic simulation software, e.g. CST, HFSS, FEKO, COMSOL
* Driver's license
The following things mentioned will be seen as an advantage;
* Experience of HW design
* Experience of antenna design
* Experience of microwave technology
* Good scripting/programming skills and experience of handling large amounts of data
* Experience from automotive development
Who are you?
