The Senior Vice President of Purchasing & Supply Management (SVP P&SM) will be responsible to provide the leadership and strategic vision in purchasing and supply management. He/she is also responsible to develop and implement purchasing and supplier management strategies, processes and policies/procedures in order to achieve objectives on Quality, Delivery and Cost for Volvo CE.

This job requires a profile of at least 15 years of progressive experience in leadership roles. The successful candidate should have a proven track record of successfully leading global team. He/she will ensure that P&SM related strategies are effectively implemented, measured and reported upon.

The SVP P&SM is a member of the Volvo CE Executive Management Team (EMT) and will lead a team and a worldwide organization.

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities:
*Responsible for managing a total spend of 26billion SEK and over 2000 suppliers
• Define global sourcing strategies and ensure their execution in a way that is consistent with business strategies and risk management objectives
• Lead Volvo CE's P&SM function to minimize overall purchasing costs without compromising on quality or reliability of supply
• Assess how the P&SM organization functions and identify improvements
• Assign projects, tasks and annual objectives to P&SM team, determing goals to be reached in terms of costs, service levels and efficiency
• Take accountability for performance and delivery of projects
• Personally engage as appropriate and direct the team to negotiate, implement and manage agreements with suppliers
• Provide disciplined, ethical, focused leadership and coaching to P&SM management and the broader P&SM organization that will foster success based on a culture of respect for customers, employees and Volvo CE values
• Develop the value based leadership culture and ensure consistency in ways of working
• Secure development, engagement and high performance of the P&SM team

Required knowledge & experience:

1. Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:

• Bachelor/University degree
• MBA or equivalent is preferred
• Minimum 15 years of business leadership experiences
• In-depth purchasing and supply management knowledge
• Excellent command of English language

• Successful track record of building and leading transformation of organizations (Purchasing organization preferably) in rapidly changing global markets

• Background in automotive industry is required
