The Energy Storage System (ESS) Diagnostics group is responsible for the design and development of diagnostic solutions for on- and off-board diagnostics of Traction Voltage Batteries (TVB) used in all of Volvos' electric products, such as buses, trucks, construction equipment, and marine applications. It covers the entire lifecycle of batteries, starting from breaking down requirements in the design phase, to repair, refurbishing, remanufacturing at the end of life, and all stages in between. This group is part of the Battery Management System (BMS) Section, which is responsible for the complete BMS - including the electronic hardware (HW), electrical architecture, and the software (SW) for control and diagnostics of TVB.
Who are we looking for?
Senior Traction Voltage Battery Diagnostic Engineer to be part of the complete V-cycle for TVB diagnostic concepts (such as Thermal Runaway Detection, Internal Resistance Monitoring, HVIL, and leakage detection).

To succeed in the role we believe that you have the following background:
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience within diagnostic concepts for TVB, in Automotive Industry and related Regulations, Standards and practices for Functional Safety and Cyber Security
Experienced in supplier collaboration
Experienced within SW development including technical requirement
Good communication skills in English both written and verbal.
Meritorious to have:
Experience from SW requirement handling (System-Weaver)
Experience from SW development (MATLAB Simulink/ dSPACE TargetLink)
Experience from Calibration tool(s) for example ETAS INCA or ATI Vision
Experience from in-vehicle communication (LIN, CAN, Ethernet, diagnostic protocols, etc.)
Familiar with CANalyzer, Git for version control and JIRA
Applicants shall have a Masters degree in Control systems, Mechatronics, Electrical engineering, Engineering physics, or relevant field.
