Volvo Cars Connected Car is a Digital Development department within Volvo Cars that drives the development of Volvo Cars' Connected Car solution. We are responsible for the cloud platform and services that provides telematics and infotainment services to the connected Volvo cars. Connected Car is also responsible for daily operation of all digital products provided to the Car and its users. Among those the well-known Volvo On Call, Sensus and Active Safety features.
What do we offer
Connected Car will grow its Digital Development capabilities to support new cloud functions needed for Autonomous Drive, Electrical Propulsion and many Customer facing digital products. Additionally the continuously growth of the number of connected cars and the increased Security and Privacy focus brings new demand to the cloud platform. The development and operation is performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments and external suppliers in a dynamic and international environment.

We are now looking for four Senior SW Developer product to Connected Car.
What you 'll do
The SW developer role will focus on stepwise implementation of new cloud functionality together with his or her Agile team members in close co-operation with the Agile Product Owner and Scrum Master. As a Senior SW developer you will also use your expertise and experience to mentor and coach others on your team, understand the goals of the team, particularly in terms of outcomes or metrics, and have an idea on how the team can deliver software more effectively. Within the team you are responsible for the decisions on how the SW shall be implemented.
The Agile team will implement new cloud Platform functionality within areas of Autonomous Drive, Active Safety, Electric Propulsion, Remote Vehicle Services and Authentication/Authorization.

In order for you to fully enjoy this job we think that you have ideas on how the team can deliver software more effectively. We see that you have enough experienced to be the team software development expert and understanding of development mind set and methodologies like Agile, Scrum and SAFe. It is important that you have experience of mentoring and ability to coach your team colleagues in the software development practice while at the same time you are a strong individual contributor. Develop and champion policies, standards and principles are also part of the job.
We see that you have following education:
* BSc degree or higher in engineering, or equivalent experience
* Master the English language both spoken and in writing
Technologies
* Stream processing mechanics
* Realtime Micro service architecture in a cloud and virtualization environment
* Experience with some of Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker
* Geospatial processing
* Information modelling and architecture
* Communication networks and Integration Architecture/Patterns
* Vehicle telematics domain
* More than 2 years of experience as Java developer
* Experience with relevant version control, build & deploy tooling - Git, Maven, eclipse
