Looking for a great job within one of the most innovative and successful studios in Europe? Massive Entertainment is currently looking for a Head Writer / Lore keeper with excellent leadership skills for a new exciting project. This is a full-time position based at our studio and will require relocation to Malmö, Sweden.
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the lore and world descriptions for a new, unannounced IP, as well as leading and mentoring a team of writers. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Lead Game Designer and Art Director in discussing and brainstorming what direction to take on the project.
We are ideally looking for a candidate with prior experience from the games industry (shipped AAA PC or console titles), but we are also interested in hearing from you if you are a professional Writer with several books or stories published. You are passionate about composing interesting, immersive, and well-written background stories and lore descriptions. It is important that you are flexible as you will be expanding on existing material. As a person you are creative, driven, cooperative, result oriented and have strong leading skills. We assume that you have very strong skills in written as well as verbal English communication.
Required skills and experiences:
• A minimum of 5 years experience working as a Writer
• Previous experience in the games industry AND/OR have published several book titles
• Excellent skills in written and spoken English
• Talent for writing Sci-Fi / Fantasy and a good understanding of writing stories for games
• Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
• Organized; has the ability to work towards deadlines
• Able to maintain a clear vision of how the "lore" should be and communicate this to the team
Additional bonus assets:
• Solid understanding of game creation
• A strong interest in RPG games
• Experience with running and/or writing for traditional pen and paper RPGs
• Previous experience in leading and coaching other writers
