Senior Software Architect, Sensor Fusion

The Sensor Fusion team within Safety Electronics department is a tight team with strong team sense. We truly believe that our differences in culture, age and experience are what make us successful. We develop functions in embedded software to enable the fusion of information from our growing number of safety sensors in order to provide the most efficient and reliable description of the vehicle surroundings. Our contribution is of great importance to be able to maintain our position as world leading in safety and specifically in the area of autonomous driving (DriveMe project). We work with development in both research projects with external partners (such as other car manufactures, governmental organisations and universities) in an international environment, as well as advanced engineering and in industrialisation phases until the product is launched to the end customer. This gives our employees the opportunity to participate in different phases and gain a wider perspective of the complete development chain, from research to final product.

As a Senior Software Architect you will be responsible for the total Software development of the Sensor Fusion team in our Autonomous Driving program DriveMe with regards to planning, architecture, functionality fulfilment and quality assured software deliveries. You will also be responsible for the over-all integration of the different software modules within the Sensor fusion team, setting up the Software architecture for the software components to meet the demand for re-usability and flexibility of code across different programs and to perform profiling and optimisation of all delivered code. You will take part of the development of the tools to optimize Software Testing and assisting in developing the area of sensor fusion/environmental perception together with our Technical Specialist. You will be contributing with your view of the strategic direction on Software architecture that will be required to meet the needs in autonomous vehicles and for our future products to come.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure that the Sensor fusion team deliver according to the agreed Software delivery plan
• Ensure that the implemented Sensor fusion architecture and code is adapted and optimized for the target hardware integration
• Guiding team members in developing even more efficient and optimized code
• Code review and verification of developed Software components
• Requirement definition and documentation to enable test method development and verification

Required qualifications

• MSc in Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, Physics or equivalent
• Extensive working experience in development/programming in C/C++/Matlab
• Experience from SW development and the applicable development processes used to quality assure developed SW
• Computer programming education is meritorious
• Experience from developing Software for Embedded systems is meritorious
• Experience from working with ISO26262 alternatively from working with safety critical systems in other areas than the car industry will be preferable
• Familiarity with Agile development methods and Scrum and Experience from working with the tools Matlab coder, Simulink coder, Embedded coder will be an asset
• Experience from development work in the areas of signal processing, Sensor data fusion and control systems is meritorious
