For AstraZeneca we are now looking for a Senior Scientist to join the Screening Sciences and Sample Management in Mölndal. It is a Consultant Assignment for 12 months with possibility for extension.

Publiceringsdatum2015-07-30Dina arbetsuppgifterAn opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior scientist to join the Screening Sciences and Sample Management Department within the Discovery Sciences iMED in Mölndal for a period of twelve months. The successful candidate will join one of the SAR screening teams whose remit is to support iMED projects globally with delivery of screening and mechanism of action data for project compounds.
This is a lab-based role, providing in vitro target -based and phenotypic screening to support all phases of the discovery process. It requires an ability to suggest and deliver experimental strategies and troubleshoot problems that may arise.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
Preferred experience
• Expertise in enzyme and or receptor pharmacology as applied to drug discovery
• Expertise in enzyme/protein and/or cell-based screening
• Theoretical understanding of assay design relevant to the pharmacology of the drug target
• A knowledge of detection technologies and technology platforms
• Data analysis and conversion of screening data to biological parameters
• Experience in design and execution of complex pharmacology studies to understand compound mechanism of action
• An understanding of automation and its application to screening
Skills and Responsibilities
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to operate effectively in a multi-disciplinary research environment
• Independent analysis and evaluation of complex data and delivery of data to agreed timelines
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to others
Qualifications
• Candidates should have a Ph.D or a first degree and at least 4 years experience within a relevant scientific discipline
