We have one open positions in one of the applications sections at BioProcess R&D. The mission of the section is to support the department with expertise and technologies regarding downstream processing of antibodies and related molecules.
Essential Responsibilities:
The work is performed in close collaboration with our cell culture experts and our responsibility is to develop downstream processes for target molecules produced either bacteria (mainly E.Coli) or eukaryotic cell lines (mainly CHO-cells). Most work is performed as project work with several team members with different responsibilities but flexibility between different types of tasks (i.e. process development and analysis) is advantageous.The main task is to develop and perform downstream purification of proteins performed in cell culture. Development is performed in ml-scale but the processes should be scalable to several hundred liter scale. The work includes planning, performing, analyzing and reporting the studies and customer collaborations may be a part of the work.
The Scientist is expected to:
• Act as mentor and support to co-workers.
• Act as activity leader in project work.
• Independently perform practical lab work and report accomplished tasks in writing or orally
• Contribute to scientific presence within the area of expertise by presenting posters and orals at conferences.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• PhD or equivalent within the area of Biochemistry, Biotecknology or similar
• Practical experience from protein purification and process development preferably for large scale applications (preparative chromatography)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals and in group settings
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to motivate and lead
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience from Design of Experiment (DoE) tools
• Experience as supervisor or activity responsible
• Ability to present ideas and results both in formal and informal settings
• Professional attitude to processes and routines
