You will be part of Robotics and based in Västerås. Robotics is the world-leading supplier of industrial robots and robot systems. Tasks
YuMi, released by ABB in 2015, is the first truly collaborative robot in the world which opens up new applications and markets for industrial robots. And now, it is time to move forward, toward our next state-of-the-art robot solution. If you want to challenge yourself, taking our products to the next level, the role as Senior R&D Engineer is right for you. Your main mission will be to drive the development of next generation?s industrial robot controllers in ABB Robotics? product portfolio. As you balance requirements from different stakeholders regarding design aspects, and provide expertise regarding power electronics and embedded software, in various settings, you will build a large network worldwide.

Requirements
You hold a PhD in Power Electronics, along with ten years' experience from product development of complex mechatronic products in a global industrial setting, of which at least five years has been in leadership roles. As a result, you have a proven track record of successful development of industrial mechatronic products, experience from a global work context, and world class mechatronic (electronics, embedded software, power electronics) skills. In addition you have hands on experience of stake holder management. Strong English skills are a necessity, while additional language skills, such as Swedish or Chinese, are positive. If you can add experience from development of industrial robots it is qualifying. In this role, you need self-reliance, results focus, as well as exceptional drive and persistence.
