Global Procurement Vehicle Propulsion at Volvo Cars is responsible for developing purchasing strategies, new vehicle sourcing, new engine and electrification sourcing, supplier quality, supplier foot print set-up/optimization and non-design cost reduction for all direct material supplies to Volvo Cars related to components within our responsibility area.
Our global team has numerous exciting challenges ahead related to internal combustion engines and electrification. Our team's motto is "We drive the future" as we like to drive change and take the lead in driving our business forward. Within our team we now have an open position as Senior Purchasing Manager.
Main responsibilities
The Senior Purchasing Manager is responsible for the group to deliver in accordance with Procurement priorities, targets and business plan. Within the position lies the responsibility to develop, support and coach both the individual employees and the team as well as the Human Resource responsibility for the group:
* Develop, support and coach the individual employees and team in the daily work
* Recruitment, new employee introduction, competence development and salary setting
* Ensure that targets within the group are settled and met if targets are not met, develop appropriate action plans to ensure recovery
* Overall responsibility for supplier base and strategy development
* Cooperation with internal as well as external contacts
Required qualifications
* Experience from leading people
* Strong business acumen, drive and ambition with excellent negotiation skills
* Good skills in communication, both English and Swedish
* Experience from purchasing
* Commercial or technical university degree or equivalent
* Preferably experience from a strategic buyer role or a managerial position within purchasing or R&D
Personal qualifications
* Inspiring leadership - target oriented, strong drive and mind-set that everything is possible
* High interest in individual development with the ambition to develop the employees' mind-set and behaviour
* Demonstrated coaching skills
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Social strength and strives to improve cooperation with key stakeholders

* Strong ability to manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines and expectations
* Honest person with integrity
