About us
Global Product Development (GPD) is a global function in Volvo Buses which is responsible for developing and maintaining complete vehicles, chassis and body, with a comprehensive range of related services. The main sites are located in Sweden, Poland, China, India, Mexico and Brazil. The function employs app. 700 people.

Projects and Range Architecture
Projects and Range Architecture (PRA) is a function in the Global Product Development organisation responsible to bring a significant contribution to the performance of Volvo Bus Corporation by:

• managing the project factory
• product cradle-to-grave responsibility
• range architecture
• homologation and certification of products and vehicles
PRA is a team of 100 people including project management, product management and homologation represented at 5 sites.
We are now looking for a Chief Project Manager to develop and implement the next generation HDEP.
The project includes platform and body development of next generation's HDEP - both software and hardware. The big challenge of this engine program will be to find the commonalities and avoid market specific solutions while keeping the product 's QDCF. Good social skills, stakeholder management and communication will be of the essence.

Job description:
As Chief Project Manager (CPM) you will have the responsibility to lead and drive assigned project to meet agreed targets. In the line dimension you will report to the Project Management Office Director in Got and in the project dimension to the Start cost Projects Steering Group (SPSG).

Main responsibilities and authorities:

• Break down the project into manageable deliverables, and direct assigned resources in order to meet the project targets
• Deliver projects on committed product cost, time and feature targets within given budget frames
• Lead and drive the day-to-day project work
• Lead the Project Management Group
• Present and prepare project for decisions in relevant Steering Committees and Decision Bodies
• Stakeholder management and communication
• Continuously develop processes to improve the project factory efficiency
• Work in highly international and multi-functional network environment consisting of our Business Regions, Product Development, After Market and Production

Requested qualifications:

Successful candidates should match the following skills and experience profile:

• Senior experiences from project and portfolio management is a must
• Demonstrating a high and solid level in the leadership competencies and project management knowledge areas, the CPM will be an inspiring and inclusive leader as well as an active team member
• Understands the complete chain of his/her project and is familiar with modern managing principles and techniques within a global matrix organisation
• Focus on deliveries and meeting deadlines
• Takes initiatives, demonstrates confidence in his/her abilities, adapts well and works in a structured way
• Target-oriented with a strong drive for results
• Strong interpersonal capabilities, courage and integrity
• Good net-worker with a holistic view and good communication and negotiating skills
• Experience of line management and powertrain engineering is an asset
• University degree in relevant subjects, fluent in English and PMP certified according to the PMI standard
