Are you looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to join an industry leader? Metso Minerals in Sala is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager who has the ability and ambition to successfully lead large and complex projects.
In this exciting and challenging position, you will have complete responsibility for leading and managing large and/or very complex projects ensuring they are successfully completed on time, within baseline budgets and to the customer's specification. You will generally be involved at tender stage and participate in the pre-contract negotiations and you will develop and organize resources necessary to control and complete the projects. You will also maintain and develop customer relationships and confidence so as to ensure future work and development of aftermarket business. Periods of domestic and international travel will be required.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have a strong background in project management, ideally from the mining industry, construction business or complex projects in heavy industry You will have experience from large or complex projects, with the full scope of responsibility such as, budget, time frames, staff, resources, contract reviewing and negotiations, change management, risk assessment, close out and customer care. You will also have a proven track record of meeting deadlines and ensuring specifications and standards are met. It is therefore important that your technical knowledge is very good and that you understand the project quality requirements and can monitor and ensure compliance through liaison with relevant staff, engineering departments and suppliers.
As you will have staff responsibility, it is important that you have highly polished communication and interpersonal skills and are able to motivate and coach your team, promoting effective work and co-operation. You must also have very good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Products, Lotus Notes and MS Project and/or Primavera.
