The arena
The role, Senior Project Leader for the newly-created R&I Innovative Medicines Unit represents an exciting opportunity to shape and drive the development programmes of one or more of our candidate drugs through the leadership of a cross-functional team. We have the desire to discover the value of unprecedented new mechanisms in disease with high unmet medical needs. Accountabilities:
Key Deliverables
Develop and coordinate DA TPPs to achieve the following:
Differentiated DATPPs vs competitors with a positive value proposition which need to include commercial input and payer consultations
A DA development plan with regulatory and clinical input including eg interactions with regulatory authorities, end-point development for the DA
A DA Translational Science plan and to ensure delivery of the components of that plan
Act as the custodian for the project strategies and TPPs for the projects in the cluster
Including consistency in the development plans
Alignment with the DA strategy
Work with the PLs and cross-functional representatives (incl representatives from Science, Translational science, Clinical, Reg, Comm, SPBD, GPL, etc) to
Support the iMed LT in the delivery of the DA strategy
Deliver successful Projects from LO to PoC for the whole DA/cluster
Act as champion for external opportunities and collaborations in the DA, together with iMed strategy and SPBD. For in-licensing opportunities, act as the custodian of the TPP, the development plan and provide expertise for evaluation. For established collaborations related to the cluster/projects, ensure good collaborative working.
Collaborate with VP strategy to enhance and sustain the scientific reputation of the DA
Ad hoc member of the iMed LT (agenda driven) for DA/portfolio discussions
Ensure target selection and portfolio in MS1-MS3 are in line with DA strategy (pre-projects Science led)
Mentor and coach PLs as well as other iMed team roles
As a Project Leader
Lead projects from Lead Optimisation Investment Decision to POP/POC:
Responsible for development and delivery of the project strategy and TPP
Ensuring alignment with the project strategy to the disease area strategy
Interfacing and positioning of project within the broader business context
Pro-active in cross project and disease area learning.
Ensure appropriate resourcing of the team
Seek and apply best practices (internally and externally) in processes, data analysis, and decision-making in the project team..
