• Think holistically about delivering value by helping us improve all layers of our stack
• Refactor, modernize and improve our extensive existing code base and architecture
• Develop entirely new products and features (we have very big plans!)
• Help evolve our technology, methodologies, tools and best practices
• Actively participate in planning, design, implementation and delivery mission-critical ecommerce for some of the hottest brands out there
• Produce and maintain a clean, well-tested, high quality and standard-compliant code
• Participate in and help evolve our agile development process
• Stay current in their fields through researching new technologies, side projects, and/or participation in developer communities, etc.
Our current stack:
• PHP 7 / PHP 5.3 (waiting to be upgraded)
• Elixir, Go
• Node.js, React, Redux
• MariaDB / MySQL, Nginx, Ubuntu
• AWS and Digital Ocean
• Git and Github
• REST APIs
Some particular experience we're interested in:
• Team-based PHP 7 and general enterprise OOP development
• Structured large-scale refactoring
• Relational database design (in particular on MySQL)
• Full text search (Elastic Search, Solr, Lucene)
• Production experience of virtual environments and PaaS/IaaS (e.g. Amazon AWS and Digital Ocean)

We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our team on Långholmen in Stockholm. At Centra, we want a person with a good skillset and an eagerness to learn together and solve problems as a team. We work hard, and we care a lot about what we do, but we don't expect our team to break their backs. We got where we are because we hire and work with humans, and that's what we want to continue to do as we expand the company.
English is our working language, so you need to be a fluent English speaker.
