The Communications, External Relations and In-kind Division at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Senior Officer as Work Package Leader In-Kind in the framework of an EU grant.

Description of directorate/division
The Senior Officer as Work Package Leader In-Kind in the framework of an EU grant will report to the Head of Communications, External Relations and In-kind Division, which is in charge of strategic and operation activities related to internal and external communications, stakeholder relations and the In-kind management. This position is linked to a Horizon 2020 grant (INFRADEV-3), which is dedicated to the individual implementation and operation of ESFRI projects.

Description of main responsibilities
The Senior Officer as Work Package Leader In-Kind in the framework of an EU grant will be leading on the following Sub-Work Packages.
• Development and implementation of an IKC information system.
• Development of an IKC Best Practice system and organisation of collaboration meetings.
• Creation and maintenance of an IKC network of Regional Hubs.
• Capacity Building in Technology Transfer.
• Strengthening the ILO Network.

This role include:

Project Management
• Leading a cross-functional project team at ESS and coordination with dedicated staff at our Consortium Partners.
• Ensuring the timely accomplishment of all milestones and deliverables associated with the Sub-Work Packages.
• Timely progress and administrative reporting to the Project Director for the Work Packages in charge.
• Financial management and control of the respective Work Packages budget.

In-Kind Management
• Management of in-kind contributions from member countries working closely with Partner institutes and ESS directorates.
• Ensure successful implementation of In-Kind deliveries by supporting quality and risk management.
• Create, implement, maintain and continuously improve the In-Kind Management process.

Technology Transfer
• Supervision and guidance of setting-up a Technology Transfer Office at ESS.
• Identifying commercial strategies for transferring technologies to industry.
• Leveraging the innovation potential of ESS.

ILO Network Support
• Enlarging the base of industrial suppliers (especially for advanced technologies) by strengthening the ESS network of Industrial Liaison Officers
• Supervision of ILO activities at ESS

Qualifications
• Proven professional experience (8-10 years) from similar roles with scientific collaborations at Research Infrastructures or universities
• Experience in working with international, cross-functional teams
• Academic degree in a subject relevant to the portfolio of the tasks
• Proven project management skills, including responsibilities for financial management and reporting.
• Involvement in in-kind coordination or delivery is a merit
• Experience with management and/or procurement and/or Quality Management would be an advantage

Duration & Location
This position is a time limited position, maximum 36 month. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
