Maintenance Officer & Senior Driver. 30,4 hours/week
Duties
Managing and maintaining buildings, grounds, installations and contents:
• Check the building, installations and cleaning on a weekly basis.
• Carry out minor maintenance on buildings, installations, grounds and contents and deals with breakdowns.
• Making proposals for improving the maintenance and use of buildings, contents and grounds.
• Dealing with external firms and contractors.
• Shovel snow to assure access to the buildings during the winter.
• Set up the Multipurpose conference room for different occasions in cooperation with the colleagues of the embassy.
Dealing with breakdowns:
• After receiving a complaint or report of a breakdown, determining the nature andcause of the problem.
• Repairing breakdowns and defects, carrying out routine repairs and making proposals to call in an external firm.
Security:
• Responsible for the maintenance of the security systems.
• First contact person for alarm center (24/7)
• Contact person for embassy staff members for issues with alarm
• Part of the fist respond safety group at the embassy.
Providing clerical support:
• Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail.
• Responsible for the stock and purchase of office supplies.
• Responsible for the stock and purchase of beverages.
• Assist in contacting external firms for quotations for maintenance, repairs, etc.
IT:
• Assists the IT-Support Officer at the embassy with supporting the team members with IT and IT issues.
• Maintenance on the IT equipment and managing the IT hardware in general.
Tasks as Senior Driver:
• Transporting embassy staff, delegations and goods by car.
• Taking action in unusual situations during the journey (evasive driving inaccordance with security procedures, finding alternative routes in unforeseen circumstances, etc.).
• Helping to assess security risks, incidents, etc.
• Checking daily that the car is presentable and ready to be driven
• Keeping records of journeys and vehicle records
• Carrying out simple vehicle maintenance and ordering large maintenance.
Knowledge and skills
Level of education: Senior secondary level + driving licence
Level of experience: Driving license for 10 years. Actively driving for 5 years.
• Communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of English and Swedish.
• Experience in carrying out various types of routine maintenance on buildings,contents and grounds including using tools and operating available equipment.
• Basic IT-knowledge.
• Skill in dealing with complaints and reports of breakdowns.
• Skill in to navigate and knowing your way around Stockholm by car.
• Practical knowledge of car mechanics.
• Skill in protocol and dealing courteously with passengers.
• Skill in assessing situations that threaten security and in taking de-escalating orother action.
Other:
The applicant has to be resident in Sweden holding a Swedish personnummer.
We offer
We offer a dynamic and international working environment at Södermalm in Stockholm.
The successful candidate will be offered a local contract (according to the Legal Status Local Employees regulations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) fixed for 1 year, with the possibility of prolongation.
The position is part-time - 30,4 hours per week. We offer a brut salary within the range minimum SEK 20 700,00 and maximum SEK 30 000,00 per month. The salary will be determined according to the relevant work experience of the candidate.
