NENT is currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel and a Legal Counsel to support NENT's Product, Data & Tech team at its office in Stockholm.

The journey ahead
In the last year, we have brought Viaplay to Iceland, the Baltics, Poland, the US and will go live in the Netherlands and UK in 2022. By the end of 2023, we will be live in 16 countries.

The position
NENT's team of lawyers work cross border to service NENT's business teams.

As Senior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel you will be part of a team of lawyers supporting the Commercial, Marketing and Product, Data & Tech teams, with your primary role being to act as a business partner to NENT's Product, Data & Tech team who develops and handles the underlying technical platform for the streaming service Viaplay as well as our linear TV-channels, and also provides inhouse technical services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Working close to the business, advising on legal risk management and developing effective risk mitigation strategies together with the business
• Drafting and negotiating material contracts (e.g. for broadcast services, play-out arrangements, OTT content delivery, conditional access, application development, IT procurement, software licensing etc), and supporting the business in implementing and coordinating such contracts through contract management and other processes
• Coordinating with your colleagues in the legal team around contract guidelines and directives of general relevance, such as default clauses and risk tolerance levels, and on contract management efforts benefiting the whole NENT group
• Building and developing business self-service structures through training, contract templates, checklists etc to enable business to itself manage certain legal matters
• Building capacity in business and with business stakeholders to understand and comply with regulatory requirements in everyday business, and work with the compliance function to affect the same, (co)host trainings etc
• Developing and coordinating structures and processes to share area specific legal and other relevant knowledge with colleagues in legal team to help develop, and capture, team know-how

Skills we are looking for
• Master of Law Degree
• Experience (between 7 - 9 years for the Senior Legal Counsel position, 3 - 6 years for the Legal Counsel position) negotiating and drafting commercial agreements, specifically related to IT & tech, as an in-house counsel, in an international company, or at a reputable business law firm
• It's considered extra merit if the candidate has possessed a similar role within the broadcast/streaming industry and thus is familiar with the market landscape and corresponding terminology
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and verbal
• Business and solution oriented and great relationship builder, able to create trust for the legal department in the business, and to deliver pragmatic and actionable legal advice to people at all levels
