Legal Innovation and breaking new ground are commonplace in the legal environment at Klarna due to our disruptive range of products. Our Legal team is highly valued within Klarna, for the vital role they play in facilitating and supporting our commercial success. The Legal team operates across a wide range of specialities like corporate, commercial, regulatory and consumer law, all impacted by Klara's status as a regulated Credit Market Company. Although you will play a major role in Finnish consumer law and Intellectual Property you will also get the opportunity to apply your skills in other fields.
Promote Klarna's growth through innovative and reliable legal support at a balanced risk level
You will focus on consumer facing legal matters - including matters concerning product validity and regulations, consumer credit and other consumer protection legal advice and consumer agreement terms review and drafts. You can expect to be involved in a range of activities across our commercial operations, and liaise with internal stakeholders, customers, advisors, authorities as well as your colleagues at Legal.
Although working across all Klarna's countries of operation, you will serve as main point of contact for Finland specific legal matters. You will manage authority contacts and provide training to various parts of the organisation.
Core parts of the role:
Advise on consumer and marketing law in general and consumer credit law in particular
Be the central contact point for Finnish legal matters
Represent Legal in, and advise on, product development projects and internal processes related to consumers
Take legal lead on Klarna project or initiatives covering multiple jurisdictions or areas of law
Provide guidance and training to internal functions
Consumer terms drafting
Authority intervention - advise the business or handle contacts with regards to consumer authorities
Lead, support or advice on consumer or other disputes
Step outside of core role for legal advice related to other geographies or within other legal fields as needed
Who are we looking for?
You are a commercially oriented lawyer probably with at least 5 years of experience from qualified legal work relevant for the role. We believe that you have a Master of Laws from Finland. You are highly skilled with financial industry regulations, payments or consumer credit law. You enjoy working at a high pace and you are a true star when it comes to stakeholder management and ability to clearly and concisely present solutions to complex legal challenges. On a daily basis you will find challenges that require creative, practical and secure answers - in the pursuit of which you will be able to use all of your capabilities and analytical skills. You are a humble and committed person with a desire to exceed expectations.
