An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal Affairs team, supporting activities globally and across Tetra Pak's businesses, especially in matters involving Competition Law, including with relation to commercial practices, sustainability, digitalization and IPR.
The Tetra Pak Legal Affairs unit contributes to a profitable and sustainable business by anticipating and resolving legal issues, protecting innovation and our brands, and promoting good governance. It is headed by the Tetra Pak Group Executive Vice President and General Counsel, who leads a global team of more than 90 world-class lawyers, patent and trademark attorneys, corporate governance and risk management, and export control professionals.
The position is permanent, based in Lund, Sweden or in another Tetra Pak site in Europe depending on arrangements (e.g., Modena in Italy, Madrid in Spain, Brussels in Belgium). You will report to the Vice President Legal Affairs Market Operations. Some travel may be required.
What you will do
This position will give you direct access to our business teams, with whom you will be working closely, and will get you to the heart of Tetra Pak's business operations. You will also be interacting with our Legal Affairs colleagues from all geographies.
You will focus on
Provide commercial and competition law expert advice to Legal Affairs teams and business stakeholders on major, complex and strategic matters on all areas of competition law (including on anticompetitive agreements, unilateral conduct and M&A).
Monitor with the assistance of outside counsel any changes of legislation, analysing implications for the business.
Support the creation and deployment of training initiatives focused on competition law.
Support the implementation of the response strategy to unannounced inspections by Competition authorities.
Support the development and continuous improvement of commercial practices policies, procedures and processes, template agreements, checklists and other tools.
We believe you have
A law degree from a reputable university and bar admission
Minimum of 5 years' experience working with EU and US competition law for a leading law firm and/or in-house in a multinational business of comparable size.
Experience advising on all areas of competition law and in dealing with competition authorities.
Ability to prepare and deliver trainings to legal and non-legal colleagues.
Experience in supporting investigations and high exposure matters.
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
You are a driven, resourceful and ethical professional with the ability to prioritize and manage senior stakeholder expectations. You are a strategic thinker who can provide sound risk assessments and legal solutions in demanding situations. You are a team-player with the ability to collaborate at all levels and across divisions, geographies, and cultures. You have strong business acumen and ability to understand and critically review economic analysis (e.g., AECT).
