hela Sverige The Department of Textile Technology at the Swedish School of Textiles seeks a Senior Lecturer in textile technology.
Job description
Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate, Master's, and doctoral levels. You will supervise students' individual work. You will be involved in research within textile technology in close collaboration with other researchers at the university. This includes conducting applications for external funding as well as publishing one's own research results. You will participate in the further development of the university's research environment when it comes to textiles through the supervision of doctoral students and the development of the Faculty's laboratory environments. Further, you will participate in the development planning of educational programmes in textile technology and interact with other fields in order to contribute knowledge in accordance with the university's goals and visions. You will work with the development of contacts and collaboration with the surrounding community, both nationally and internationally, in the textile field.
Qualifications
The position requires a PhD degree in textile technology, material technology, polymeric materials, or other areas relevant for the field, and demonstrated pedagogical skills relevant for the area. It is also required that you have good interpersonal skills, the ability to contribute to the development of university research in textile technology, good knowledge of the industry, and the ability to communicate in spoken and written English.
A merit is experience with teaching and supervision at the doctoral level as well as research experience within an area relevant for the position that has resulted in scientific publications beyond the doctoral degree. It is also an advantage if you have experience with seeking funding for research projects and research project leadership.
It is an advantage if you have good experience in textile product development and/or textile sustainability issues such as the recycling of textiles, cellulose-based textile materials, and renewable textile materials. A particular merit is Docent-level competence (Associate Professor /US/). For applicants without Docent-level competence (Associate Professor /US/), the goal is for this to be achieved within 2-3 years of employment.
For a permanent position at the university, you must have completed a course of pedagogical training relevant to university instruction. This course is the equivalent of 10 weeks (15 ECTS credits) of full-time study. This course can be read as part of your employment during the first two years of employment.
