The primary tasks involve teaching courses in Political Science at basic level – for most part related to Global and European studies. Teaching language is English. Teaching also includes course coordination, administration and examination, as well as supervising degree projects. Administrative duties and tasks in various groups and committees within the School of Social Sciences may also be included in the work. Teaching in the department comprises the following fields: Democratization of the world, Globalization and European integration, European security in a global world.

Basis for forming a judgment – qualification requirements:
Eligibility to the position requires a completed doctoral degree in political science and a clearly documented experience of teaching in the field.
Basis for forming a judgment – others:
Other merits include: an outstanding ability to communicate in English, both in writing and speech, is a necessary requirement since teaching is held in English. The applicant is also assumed to have an advanced competence in the field of globalization. Other merits include functioning well in teacher and student groups where social competence, collaboration skills and flexibility are of great importance. Good communicative skills, a broad over-arching approach to various issues as well as administrative ability are other important qualities. A command of Swedish is not a requirement at the time of the appointment.
Adjusting between the bases for forming a judgment:
Scientific and pedagogical competences are equally valued. Among other assessment criteria, we will especially evaluate the ability to communicate in English, collaboration skills, flexibility, and administrative competence.
