A senior lecturer normally teaches with course or program coordination responsibility. They are responsible for examinations at the undergraduate and graduate level, supervising students and conducting educational development. In addition, they develop their own research, and interact in various ways with the community.
The work involves independent work and work in teams and includes participating in the development of the department's degree programs. The work includes participation in and development of research activities in relation mainly to IoTaP and the area of embedded intelligence, which concerns how intelligence embedded in devices can improve the usability and functionality of IoT services and products. This may include research in areas such as distributed artificial intelligence, adaptive and learning systems, and sensor-intensive systems.
The teaching responsibility in this position is on computer engineering and IoT, such as development of embedded systems, mobile networks or sensor data processing. Teaching is mainly within degree programs and courses on both undergraduate and graduate level. Teaching is in both Swedish and English.
Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position must have:
• A Swedish or international PhD. in relevant areas for this position
• Documented teaching proficiency, including educational development and leadership
• Documented ability to interact with the surrounding society and provide information about activities within the academic field of the department
Assessment criteria
Candidates for the positions of senior lecturer will be assessed on their level of skills and proficiency as described in the above qualification requirements and in relation to how the candidate fits the profile for the post regarding research, teaching and other relevant experience.
In addition, consideration will be given to how the applicant's experience and skills complement, strengthen, and offer the potential to develop research and education at the department.
Weight will also be given to administrative skills, ability to develop and lead activities and staff, ability to finance and develop research projects and ability to interact with industry and society. Relevant industry experience is given high priority. Experience in international scientific environments and PhD supervision is also given priority. Consideration will also be given to good interpersonal skills, drive and independence and the ability to teach in both Swedish and English.
