hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Sankt Ignatios, Stift i Södertälje As a Senior Lecturer you will take part in developing the field of Patristic Studies within the major field of Eastern Christian Studies within the Academy. You will also take part and lead the development of the people's education in the general courses, taken at the Folk high school, within the field of Religious Studies. Finally you will take part in developing the field of Syriac Christian Studies at large within the Academy.
Doctoral degree, recognized within the European System of Higher Educational Institutions, or within the American system, within the field description, and with relevant publications and/or experiences. The Academy uses English and Swedish as teaching languages, but for networking and research connections we use several languages. We already cover, Arabic, Greek and Russian, and now we need someone with English as his/her native language, and with profound knowledge of Classical Syriac. The position therefore requires very good verbal and written communication skills in English, at the level of native language. The position also requires a thorough knowledge of Patristic Greek and for the position within the Folk High School pastoral experience as pastor or priest is required. We also expect the applicant to have sufficient experience in inter-Christian relations and thorough knowledge of both Eastern Christianity and the Free Churches preferably the United Churches, since the Academy is owned by the Eastern Churches, and the Uniting Church in Sweden owns Stockholm School of Theology.

Sankt Ignatios Theological Academy is a joint venture between Sankt Ignatios folkhögskola and Stockholm School of Theology (Teologiska Högskolan Stockholm). The aim is to support a new generation of ecclesiastical leaders and scholars within Eastern Christianity, as well as educating the people through raising the general level of education. Sankt Ignatios is therefore both an Academic school as well as a school for People's Education. The Board of the Foundation behind the school consists of the canonical bishops of the Eastern churches resident in Scandinavia.
