hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos MMT i Göteborg MMT are seeking a Senior Geophysist for data interpretation and report writing in our Gothenburg Office. We are looking for an experienced technically proficient geophysicist with good communication skills. The ideal candidate will have theoretical and technical understanding, as well as practical experience, of sidescan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, ultra high resolution seismic and magnetometer/gradiometer systems.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work as part of the project team to insure consistent and correct interpretation of the datasets and accurate reporting. They will:
• Ensure that geophysical interpretation within projects is consistent and accurate.
• QC and assess interpretations carried out by other geophysists.
• Create detailed and accurate reports in English.
• Evaluate equipment and software and determine their suitability for given survey objectives.
• Communicate with software and equipment manufacturers regarding support, improvement and development.
• Work within project group with data processing, interpretation and reporting.
• Maintain in-house support and training.
The position is based at MMT's head office in Gothenburg with occasional offshore trips. An attractive compensation package and relocation assistance will be provided.
Requirements
• Bachelors or Master's degree in Geophysics, Physics or Geology is required.
• At least seven years' experience working in the offshore industry.
• A good understanding magnetic and gradiometer data and its use in UXO surveys. Have a knowledge of new developments in this market.
• Extensive experience with SBP and SSS data.
• A good working knowledge of geophysical data formats.
• Familiarity with IHS Kingdom, Oasis Montaj, SonarWiz a must. Knowledge of ArcGIS and FME considered an advantage
• Good communication skills are required, fluency in English is required.
